Good Afternoon Viking families. The Forest Grove High School Athletic department is planning a Phase 1 reopening for most of our fall athletic programs.
As we plan to start training for the 2020-21 season, we understand the potential risk of contracting COVID -19. We can all work together to minimize the risks while engaging in program activities by following the recommended protocols developed by the Oregon School Athletic Association and the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations). OSAA Reopening Sports/Activities Summer Guidance (updated for Phase 2)
As stated in the OSAA document, your son or daughter will be put into cohorts of 10 athletes or less, and assigned to one coach to optimize contract tracing-if necessary- during the summer workouts. All students must sign up on Familyid prior to starting summer workouts with their cohort.

Please do so this week so we may begin planning. Each program has created workouts following the Phase 1 and Phase 2 recommendations set out in this plan. If you choose to not participate in the onsite workouts, coaches will post their weekly workouts that can be modified at home. These are NOT Fall tryouts, these workouts are conditioning programs to get ready for the season, so there is no expectation for your student-athlete to participate in person. If you have not been in communication with your coach about workouts you can do at home, either contact the coach or my office for information.
