Attention students: Forest Grove High School is hosting the 4A State Basketball
Tournament this week, Thursday-Saturday. This means that there will be no staff or

plan on arriving early on Thursday. Again, there will be no parking available in the
Basinski Center on Thursday.
In Oregon, Lockdown drills were not mandated until 2013. Taking place in 2006,
“Lockdown” is an emotional story that follows a classroom of high schoolers under a
lockdown, unsure if it’s a drill or not. Recommended for 13 and up audiences, this
student-directed, student run one-act is showing on March 17th at 6pm in the Ellen
Stevens Auditorium. You can buy tickets online for $10 or at the door for $12. All
proceeds from this event will fund scholarships for our high school thespian troupe
members. These scholarships will be used for their State competition in April, which
many of our thespians are competing in. For more information, reach out to Caspian
Bernhardt or Alickina Bell.
Calling all performers! Is there a role you have always wanted to play? A Broadway
song you have always wanted to sing? Here is your chance! Our Viking Theatre is
holding auditions this Wednesday and Thursday for “Dream Roles - A Viking Theatre
Showcase,” from 3:30 - 5:30 in room 1014 (the choir room). Come prepared to tell us
what you would like to perform or share a bit of your performance. For more
information, contact Mr. Rupert or Mr. Anderberg.
Stop by the library today during First or Late Lunch. Public librarians from Cornelius
and Forest Grove will be here to help students and staff sign up for public library
cards. Students under 18 can get a card without an adult signature. Anyone 18 or
older should bring a driver’s license or learner’s permit with a Washington County
address. Enjoy snacks and beverages while supplies last, enter a prize drawing, and
get ready for Spring Break reading with your new library card. Happy reading!
The library is hosting another Book Club during First and Late lunch. Check your
email for details about Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt. The Teen
Book Club will read the book and watch the Netflix film "The Pit" when the movie is
released in May. It's a captivating story set in the Pacific Northwest. Happy Reading!
