Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. Important changes have been made to our fall registration procedures as we move toward simplifying the process. In the next few days you will receive a packet with information for the school year. Enclosed you will find a picture packet, Vik Crew letter and an FGHS Information sheet with important reminders.
If you are in need of another profile sheet, please notify the High School immediately at 503-359-2435, 503-359-2432 or by email at email@example.com. If your student will not be returning for the 2018-2019 school year, please notify the high school Attendance office at 503-359-2439.
In addition, we will offer a paperless option for Progress Reports beginning the 2018-2019 school year. To choose this option you must log into ParentVue, select the My Account tab, select the Go Paperless Option (add up to two email addresses) and select Update Account. Parents that choose this option will no longer receive progress reports by mail.
c. Motor Vehicle Registration – Form available online (Juniors and Seniors only, optional) It must be signed both by the student and parent or guardian and ALL OUTSTANDING FEES AND FINES MUST BE PAID IN ORDER TO HAVE A PARKING PERMIT. A copy of the student’s license and a copy of the insurance for the vehicle are required.
d. School Pictures/ID Cards: Enclosed is information concerning optional school pictures. School and ID card photos will be taken the first week of school through your student’s class. To keep our school safe, all students will be required to carry picture identification while on campus. Student ID cards will be scanned in the halls and at activities. Student ID cards will also be required to purchase a lunch from the cafeteria and to attend dances and games. These pictures will also be included in the yearbook. Please dress appropriately. Remember that you will not be allowed to wear your hat for these pictures. A fee of $2.00 will be charged for replacement student body cards.
e. Student devices: FGHS utilizes chrome books in the majority of classrooms, with carts available in most (but not all) classrooms. We welcome students to bring their own device, whether that's an iPad, Chrome Book, Mac Book, etc. Math classes especially will involve a lot of technology through the use of interactive lessons, so an individual device is recommended. If students wish, they may check out a device through the library for a $25 fee.
The following fees are optional. You may pay fees online by visiting our school website, by check or debit/credit card in the high school Bookkeeping office. If you pay by check, please make it out to Forest Grove High School. The following are the most common fees:
Chromebook Rental Fee (Optional) $25.00
Parking Permit (Juniors and Seniors) $ 5.00
Reserved Parking Permit – Seniors only $25.00
(If you drive to school, you must park in the student lot)
Activity Fee $30.00
This fee allows students free admission to our Greater Valley Conference athletic events (home and away), excluding playoff games, and also gives them $1.00 off the admission to school dances.
Athletic Fees (per sport)
All grades $125.00 per sport with a family cap of $400.00
Accident Insurance (several options are available – brochures available in the Athletic office)
Freshmen are recommended to have one 3" three-ring notebook and are strongly encouraged to bring a TI30 calculator for Conceptual Physics class. Calculators used in higher level math classes will work well too.
Note: If you are interested in a fall sport, please contact Mrs. Christopherson in the athletic office at
Freshmen: Students in middle school may earn high school credit. To earn this credit from Neil Armstrong Middle School, the parent must petition Forest Grove High School. Petition forms will be available at registration. To petition successfully, the student must have had a C or better in Algebra or higher math class and/or foreign language. The course grade and credit will be placed on the student’s transcript. The credit will count toward high school credit and the grade will affect the student’s grade point average. Once the grade and credit have been approved and accepted, it will be placed on the transcript permanently. If you have questions, please call me.
We hope that you find these changes helpful and time saving and we are happy to provide a more streamlined registration process. Please call the high school main office with any questions at 503-359-2432.
